You might come across with a question in your mind, “what version of windows running on my laptop or desktop?”
Windows version helps you to take decisions about your computer’s maintenance, security, performance and ensures a smoother computing experience.
Today, I am going to discuss about 3 best ways to check your windows versions
Method 1: “Winver”
- Login to your laptop
- Press the “Windows key + R” on your keyboard. This will open the “Run” dialog box.
- Type winver in the Run box and press Enter.

- A small window will be displaying the version and build information of your Windows operating system.

Method 2: System Information
- Press the “Windows key + R” on your keyboard to open the “Run” dialog box.
- Type msinfo32 and press Enter or click OK.

- The “System Information” window will open, and you’ll find the version, build, and other details about your Windows operating system in the “System Summary” section.

Method 3: Using “Settings”
- Open the “Start” button (Windows logo) in the bottom-left corner of your screen.
- Click on the gear icon to open the “Settings” app.

- In the Settings window, click on “System.”
- In the left-hand menu, scroll down and click on “About.”
- Look for the “Windows specifications” section on the right side of the About page. Here, you’ll find the version and build number of your Windows operating system.
