You might come across with a question in your mind, “what version of windows running on my laptop or desktop?”

Method 1: “Winver”

  1. Login to your laptop
  2. Press the “Windows key + R” on your keyboard. This will open the “Run” dialog box.
  3. Type winver in the Run box and press Enter.
  1. A small window will be displaying the version and build information of your Windows operating system.

Method 2: System Information

  1. Press the “Windows key + R” on your keyboard to open the “Run” dialog box.
  2. Type msinfo32 and press Enter or click OK.
  1. The “System Information” window will open, and you’ll find the version, build, and other details about your Windows operating system in the “System Summary” section.

Method 3: Using “Settings”

  1. Open the “Start” button (Windows logo) in the bottom-left corner of your screen.
  2. Click on the gear icon to open the “Settings” app.
  1. In the Settings window, click on “System.”
  2. In the left-hand menu, scroll down and click on “About.”
  3. Look for the “Windows specifications” section on the right side of the About page. Here, you’ll find the version and build number of your Windows operating system.
